MIG Welding (GMAW)
MIG — gas metal arc welding — feeds wire continuously under a shielding gas. It is fast, it runs clean, and it leaves a bead that needs very little cleanup.
When the material is clean and the work is indoors or sheltered, MIG is usually the most efficient way to get it done well.

Common questions
Can you MIG weld aluminium?
Yes. Aluminium needs a spool gun or push-pull setup and a different gas, and it moves heat very differently from steel. It is routine work for us — tell us the alloy and thickness.
Will the weld be visible?
MIG leaves the cleanest bead of the three processes and can be ground and finished nearly invisible where the piece is architectural. Say so up front and we will fabricate accordingly.
Can you MIG weld on my site?
If the area is sheltered from wind, yes. Out in the open we would switch to stick or flux core, because a breeze will pull the shielding gas away and leave you with a porous weld.
